Brenda Cochrane
Written: 10th January 2004
The church was packed to capacity - over 300 people.
It was also a blaze of colour from thousands of flowers.
The mood was one of sadness, but not despair.
The music was healing and joyous.
The prayers, poems, & tributes supportive and revealing.
Everyone was sympathetic and joined by a common loss.
And everyone was so kind to me, and the entire family.
THIS WAS BRENDA'S FUNERAL
Many of you had travelled long distances to be with us, and many could not make it, but you have all shown you concern, love, and support through your emails, letters, cards, telephone calls, flowers and donations.
On behalf of Brenda, myself, and our entire family, let me say thank you to you all for everything today and over the past 2 (+) years of Brenda's ongoing fight with cancer. She is now at peace, and we are all tired, but starting the job of getting back to some state of normality.
Nothing will replace Brenda and her love and devotion to us, and the community at large, but you all made this a special day, and you are helping us recover.
Many of you asked for copies of the Family Tribute I delivered during the service, which I have pleasure in enclosing.
Thank you again - from all of us,
